Rampone Cazzani Serial Numbers

I own af rampone and cazzani tenor sax serial 8401 – and according to the Company it about 75-80 years old – so this horn could very well be15-20 years older and therefor about 100 years old.

Well, the official website is one of the best sources of information about the long history of his brand. Rampone & Cazzani is one of the oldest saxophone factories in the world. Their history goes way back. They were amongst the most prolific Italian makers and during the ’50,’60 and the beginning of the '70 sold plenty of saxophones around the world and produced many stencils for other brands. The small village of Quarna sotto was home to Rampone& Cazzani, Alfonso Rampone and Grassi, all three separate brands.
